Walnut finally gets a home. This is a happy ending story for Walnut. He was in bad shape with his tail frozen from living out in the extreme cold. After many vet appointments, he lost a piece of his tail due to infection. He was a very sick kitty that fought back and never lost his desire of being held and loved by people coming into the shelter. Walnut was always overlooked because of his disfigured appearance… until it was total love when his new family met him. Now Walnut travels with his new mom in his own backpack!
It has been 7 years since we adopted an 18-month-old dog from you. I wanted to let you know that not only has Kimber (a male boxer/Rottweiler type mix) been a great family dog all these years, but he is now the BEST dog to have as we have entered dog fostering ourselves in the state of Arkansas where we moved to. Kimber has welcomed, played with, shared toys and beds and attention to 14 fosters ranging in age from 7 weeks to adult. He is the playful uncle who also teaches housetraining, leash walking, house manners to the fosters so that they have all gone on to adoptive homes having a great start in life, Dog rescuing and support is such hard work, I see that firsthand with the shelter I volunteer for. I want your staff to know that through your agency, through Kimber, more dogs have been helped. Your impact is far reaching I am sure of that.

We are so thankful for our Lucky’s Place adoptees: Red Fox (formerly Angel, a kitten with a badly broken leg that we adopted 14 years ago), and Gnocchi (Oakley) & Mabel (Maple), our 4-year-old Akbash siblings.
Grateful for all that you do for the animals!

Sending out a HUGE heartfelt thank you to the Thayne Elementary for organizing a food and toy drive for our cats and dogs at the shelter!
We are so grateful to have such a giving community. From young to old, there is so much kindness to be found in this valley.
The animals here are so very blessed to receive this bundle of Christmas joy. What a wonderfully generous idea from Ms. Reckling and all the children!
“Lucky loves a good belly rub. She is doing great and not fence fighting anymore. We love her so much!”
Lucky lived at our shelter for over 3 years before she finally found her forever family. There is always someone out there for each and every one of these pets. Some times it just takes a while to find them.
Clyde was adopted recently. He enjoyed spending Thanksgiving Day with his new family.
“We love Clyde!” -Susan
I adopted Aspen 12 years ago from your shelter. She is doing very well and quite active for 12 + years. I am sending you a recent photo.

I thought I would send an update on Patch (formerly Skye), who is turning out to be a great dog. Loves his new bed and to lay right beside me when I’m reading or watching TV. He is very affectionate and smart. As I suspected, we bonded in about 8-9 days. I think you would approve of my quiet ways with him and our peaceful home. We still have things to work on, but he is smart and picks up things very quickly.
Many thanks to you and your crew for all that you do. And for your help with Patch, particularly. I hope all is well with you and the shelter. I suspect the hills are just spectacular about now.
