Ricky Jay Ladner

Ricky Jay Ladner

Ricky Jay is 10 years old and loves his cat like a brother.  When he started earning an allowance, his parents (who have a financial planning practice in Alpine) taught him the importance of spending some, saving some and giving some.  When asked where he would want to give money to, he immediately said ‘I want to help kittens.’

He now regularly donates a portion of his allowance to Lucky’s Place and asked his friends who didn’t know what to get him for his birthday to donate to Lucky’s too.  He loves getting the thank you letters from Lucky’s telling him how his money is helping.

Thank you for supporting us!

Caylyn

Caylyn Tobin

Caylyn Tobin generously donated her time and money to host the Woof-Raising Fundraiser to benefit our shelter, Lucky’s Place.

The fundraiser was a huge success, and we can never thank Caylyn enough for all she has done for our organization.

All of the animals at the shelter would like to say “Thank you, Caylyn!  We love you!”

Dr. Patricia Owens

“Several years ago one of my best friends sent my cat, Harry, a snuggle blanket that she had made.  He loved it and it is his favorite place to sleep at night, at the foot of my bed.  I thought snuggle blankets for shelter animals was a great idea.  So in 2017, I started knitting them.  Not too many months later I read a news story about Lucky’s Place and the fine work they did.  I wrote and asked if they would accept donations of snuggle blankets.  Yes, they would!!! So each month since then I have sent a box of snuggle blankets, and a monetary donation, to the shelter.

In 2018 while I was on vacation in the Tetons, I drove to Thayne to visit the shelter, meet Mary Ann, and visit with all the cats and kitties.  It was a delightful visit.  Knitting the blankets is a great pastime; planning the colors and especially making brown and gold University of Wyoming snuggle blankets.  Go Cowboys!!!”

Sandy

Sandy Fairchild

Sandy passed away recently.  For all of her 80 years she had dogs consistently and the occasional kitty.  One of her first pictures is of her and “Laddie” at the mailbox to get a letter from her Dad during World War II.  Although she moved often because of Jim’s military career, there was always a pet in the home except for two years spent in Germany.  Always a fan of Animal Humane Association of Star Valley, Sandy often contributed funds and goodies and requested contributions in her name at her death be made to AHASV.  She is pictured with her Labradoodle, Charlie.
