Willow
Hello dear Mary Ann!
It feels like an age since I touched base with you! I meant to on the day I received the Lucky’s Place’s newsletter (thank you so much for sending it to me and keeping us connected) and, of course, got home to laundry and a muddy dog that needed a bath and forgot. Willow is thriving here. I cannot even recognize the frightened little girl that came to us from you almost 2 years ago.
She is still loving her zoomies times with the neighbourhood dogs and she has just realized that if she picks up a ball that another dog wants and runs with it, they will chase her! Oh my goodness, it is hysterical. I put a woolen ball into an old tube sock of Jamie’s and knotted it so that it can be a gentle tug/toss toy for her and she tosses her head around and whips it down the hallway, then chases it, tail wagging and so, so proud of her sass. It is now “Lolo’s” teasing toy for her time with her “Bearbear” friend. She just runs, he chases and pretends to try to take it. Warms my heart and makes me grin every time. She has truly blossomed. There is further to go with confidence when she is startled by noises or strangers, but she makes progress constantly.
And now, she is recognizing words, people’s names, she knows when we are turning up the road to my parents’ home for a grandpuppy visit. She has discovered that she has a tribe and she is loving it all. We are all healthy, hunkered down with CoVid, but so happy to hunker with the wee fuzzy girl.
Thank you again, so so much, for blessing our family with her heart…..
Stay well and safe, my dear, and blessings cover you,
Lisa
